Port Royal Railroad Removal Update

(January 2012)

The removal of the stone base is nearly complete. Our contractor will clean the area before finishing the job.

We have also removed the train trestles associated with this railroad. We will begin removal of the swing bridge over the Whale Branch River on January 30, and we'll be done by the end of February. Boaters are urged to use caution in the area. At certain times, the bridge will be in its closed and locked position (Jan 30 through Feb 3).

Please check this site for any updates.
