Director of Treatment Operations Tricia Kilgore, P.E. submitted an article for the July 2018 edition of WE&T Magazine, a publication of the Water Environment Federation (WEF.)  The piece, part of the Facility Focus series, highlights the Cherry Point Water Reclamation Facility, located in Okatie. This plant, built in 1995, is significant in its unique water reclamation projects, including the renourishing of the Great Swamp and the water reuse programs for golf course and residential irrigation. BJWSA’s Water Reclamation Facilities use ultra-violet light for disinfection. This chemical-free process results in reclaimed water that can safely be recycled into local waterways or used for irrigation. See the article here.
