OKATIE, S.C. (February 15, 2021) – Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) will conduct a flushing program for a two-week period starting February 21. The flushing project is due to the need for maintenance on a 36-inch water line located in Jasper County. There will be no interruption in service as a result of the work.
The maintenance will occur in five phases, and flushing will occur between 8 pm to 5 am several nights during the month of February. The schedule for each phase will be posted on our website at www.bjwsa.org/water-outages/ under the scheduled maintenance section.
Customers can use their water as normal, but may notice brief discoloration in the tap water as a result of lines being flushed. If water appears discolored, customers should run cold water for a few minutes. If discoloration persists, BJWSA customers can call (843) 987-9200.
Information about BJWSA can be found online at www.bjwsa.org.
