Fees
A list of fees associated with project/plan submittals is provided on this page for budgetary purposes only. All fees are subject to change. The Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) issues an official quote of fees upon project/plan approval.
Announcement: Capacity Fee Change
BJWSA capacity fees increased starting March 1, 2025. Our service area is experiencing significant growth and corresponding demand for water and wastewater services. In order to serve this growth, BJWSA must build additional water/wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plant capacity, pump station upgrades and new pipeline projects. The cost to construct needed facilities has increased substantially over the last few years. This fact, coupled with BJWSA’s capital improvement planning horizon, necessitates the fee increases.
To facilitate the increase, BJWSA is providing a phased in approach as well as the opportunity to select a split payment schedule. Capacity fee payments will be required at the preconstruction meeting as shown in the schedule below. Once the initial payment is made, the total capacity price will be locked in as long as the balance is paid within 24 months of the date of the initial payment. If the project is not ready for meters before the end of the 24 months, the capacity fee balance must be paid to maintain the locked in price, otherwise, the balance will be based on the current capacity fee price.
